About Us
A hands-on learning space at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.
Who We Are
A Dynamic Space for Inquiry and Innovation
The CRAFT Hive is a hands-on learning space at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto. Established in 2020 with support from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and OISE, the space was built to make professional-grade fabrication tools accessible to educators, researchers, and learners. We are a dynamic space where the community comes together to explore, design, and build.
"Learning happens best when it is hands-on, collaborative, and connected to real-world challenges."
Our Mission
Fostering Innovative Thinking Through Making
Our mission is to foster innovative thinking through making. We believe that learning happens best when it is hands-on, collaborative, and connected to real-world challenges.
What We Do
We support educators and students in exploring a wide range of materials and tools — from electronics and 3D printing to textiles and craft. Whether you are designing a prototype, running a workshop, or experimenting with new ideas, the OISE Makerspace is your space to create.
Who Can Use the Space
The makerspace is open to OISE students, faculty, and researchers. Workshop participants and visiting educators are also welcome to join our community of makers.
